Rachelle Alpern, MBA, MHA, Rapid Response Network Manager, UNC Advanced Care at Home
Rachelle has an extensive background in healthcare consulting and policy development. She is part of the UNC Advanced Care at Home leadership team, where she oversees business development and operations of in-home services. Before joining Advanced Care at Home, Rachelle worked with the UNC Center for Health Innovation managing a diverse portfolio of initiatives with a special focus on innovative care models. She has prior experience in the design and implementation of health technology systems, as well as international healthcare policy development and quality improvement. Rachelle graduated with a Master of Business Administration and Master of Healthcare Administration from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.

Thinking Through the Patient and Caregiver Perspective : Hospital at home promises to be one of the key care-delivery models of the future—helping to better meet the demands of an aging population and new patient preferences’ by delivering acute-level care in the comfort of patient homes. But what are the potential downsides for patients and caregivers and what are the additional considerations needed by healthcare providers to ensure all needs are met? This panel session will explore thinking through the patient and caregiver perspective holistically.
